The direct account of the repeated meetings between the author and Father Dumitru Stăniloae, between 1982 and 1992, reconstructs the theologian’s portrait through specific memories: his friendship with E.M. Cioran and the latter’s letter on the Philokalia, his appreciation of Daniel Turcea’s poetry, the episode of martyrdom in December 1989, and his genuine humility regarding his own work.

Taking as its starting point the poetic connections between Eminescu, Baudelaire, Tagore and Montale, this study explores the religious and metaphysical dimension of Eminescu’s work — from the myth of Zalmoxe and Dacian immortality to the interpretations of Nichifor Crainic and Arghezi — and proposes a comparative Indo-Romanian perspective that encompasses Eminescu’s sculpture and the contributions of Romanian Indology.
