Saint Gregory Palamas’s contribution to Hesychasm. Theological premises of life in the Holy Spirit
Professor (Dr), Emeritus Dimitrie Țelenghídis Saint Gregory Palamas defends and theologically systematises the Hesychast teaching on uncreated grace, the theophany (θεοφάνεια) and the vision of God (θεοπτία), demonstrating that the light of Tabor, experienced by Hesychasts through the purification of the heart and the observance of the commandments, is identical to charismatic deification, and that its essential anthropological premise is the renunciation of one’s own will in favour of God’s will.
