God’s wisdom is examined in its scriptural, patristic and Christological dimensions, ranging from the Old Testament wisdom traditions and identification with the divine Logos to Saint Gregory Palamas’s polemic with Varlaam of Calabria. The article demonstrates that divine wisdom is not an abstract attribute, but an ontological and transformative reality, accessible to humankind through the Incarnation of the Son, through the uncreated energies, and through the ecclesial and sacramental life of the Church.

The anthropology of Saint Gregory Palamas is analysed in its ascetic and mystical dimensions, with an emphasis on the image of God in man, the relationship between νοῦς and καρδία, the trichotomy of body-soul-spirit, and the role of uncreated grace in deification. The deified human being, understood as homotheos, participates in the life of God through the uncreated energies, the body itself becoming a partaker in this eschatological transfiguration.

Saint Gregory Palamas defends and theologically systematises the Hesychast teaching on uncreated grace, the theophany (θεοφάνεια) and the vision of God (θεοπτία), demonstrating that the light of Tabor, experienced by Hesychasts through the purification of the heart and the observance of the commandments, is identical to charismatic deification, and that its essential anthropological premise is the renunciation of one’s own will in favour of God’s will.

Palamite Hesychasm and its influence on monasticism and ecclesiastical culture in Wallachia and Moldavia in the 14th century form the central theme of this article, which analyses concrete evidence such as the will of Metropolitan Hariton, the work of Nicodim of Vodița and Tismana, and the monograms on the embroidered epitrachelion of Tismana, in order to demonstrate the presence and spread of Hesychast doctrine north of the Danube.
