Studia Humanitatis No. I (XIII) / 2022 The Influence of Hesychasm on Romanian Monasticism Academician, University Professor, Dr Răzvan Theodorescu
Palamite Hesychasm and its influence on monasticism and ecclesiastical culture in Wallachia and Moldavia in the 14th century form the central theme of this article, which analyses concrete evidence such as the will of Metropolitan Hariton, the work of Nicodim of Vodița and Tismana, and the monograms on the embroidered epitrachelion of Tismana, in order to demonstrate the presence and spread of Hesychast doctrine north of the Danube.
Studia Theologica No. III (VII) / 2018 Orthodoxy: a driving force for the unity and continuity of the Romanian people Associate Professor Dr Ion Marian Croitoru

Orthodoxy is the defining feature of the Romanian identity, as their ethnogenesis and Christianisation were concurrent processes, and the synthesis of Latin culture and Orthodoxy protected them from Slavic assimilation, heresies and denationalisation. This study analyses the role of the Church, the printing press, Christian Humanism and the theocratic conception in maintaining unity of faith, language and nation in Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania.
