Professor (Dr), Emeritus Dimitrie Țelenghídis
Biography
Professor Dimitrie Țelenghidis taught Dogmatics at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; he is now retired. Born in 1949, he is married and the father of four children; Professor Țelenghidis is regarded as one of Greece’s greatest contemporary dogmatists, with a rich and varied body of work comprising numerous articles, studies and books, some of which have been translated into Romanian over the years. It is worth noting that from his youth he had the blessing of knowing Saint Paisios the Athonite, renowned for the charisms with which God had endowed him, to spend many years in his company and to receive his spiritual guidance, which strengthened him in his endeavour to follow the way of life and thinking of the Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church. However, Professor Țelenghidis’s father, Father Ioan, is also honoured for his holy and spiritual life (translator’s note).
