Studia Theologica No. I (VIII) / 2019 The election of Bishop Sofronie Vulpescu to the see of the Diocese of Râmnic (1913–1918) Rev. Dr. Laurențiu Rădoi
Bishop Sofronie Vulpescu of Râmnic, the only Romanian hierarch imprisoned by German authorities during the First World War, is the subject of this study, which reconstructs his life and ecclesiastical career from his birth in 1856 in Lupșanu to his enthronement as Bishop of Râmnic-Noul Severin in 1913, drawing on speeches, reports, and contemporary accounts, including critical remarks by Nicolae Iorga and Tudor Arghezi.
Studia Humanitatis No. I (I) / 2016 God in the writings of Eminescu George Anca
Taking as its starting point the poetic connections between Eminescu, Baudelaire, Tagore and Montale, this study explores the religious and metaphysical dimension of Eminescu’s work — from the myth of Zalmoxe and Dacian immortality to the interpretations of Nichifor Crainic and Arghezi — and proposes a comparative Indo-Romanian perspective that encompasses Eminescu’s sculpture and the contributions of Romanian Indology.
