The Saviour’s appearance to the apostles on Resurrection Sunday

Dr. Marcel Stavără This article analyses the appearance of the Risen Jesus Christ to his disciples on the evening of Easter Sunday, at the house of Mary, the mother of the evangelist Mark, commenting on the passages from John 20:19–23, Luke 24:36–43 and Mark 16:14. It examines the reality of the risen body, the institution of the Sacraments of Holy Orders and Penance, the apostles’ missionary commission and the providential absence of Thomas, with references to St John Chrysostom and St Justin the Martyr.
