The tomb of Teofana, mother of Mihai Viteazul, at Cozia
Florin Epure Nun Teofana (Teodora), mother of Mihai Viteazul, spent the final years of her life at Cozia Monastery, where she received news of her son’s triumphs and death; she bequeathed the villages of Frăsinet and Studenița to the monastery, and passed away in the Lord in 1605/1606, being buried in the narthex of the main church, beside the tomb of Mircea the Elder.
