The Beginnings of the Church Organisation in the Blessed Land of Vâlcea (I)
Archimandrite Veniamin Micle The article traces the history of the Orthodox Church’s organisation in the Romanian territories, from the defence of Academician Răzvan Theodorescu’s thesis on the pre-schismatic Latin character of Romanian Christianity to the voivodal foundations established by Basarab I and Nicolae Alexandru, demonstrating through inscriptions, synodal documents, monastic testimonies and architectural monuments that Orthodoxy has been an integral part of the Romanian people’s identity since the Apostolic Age.
