A testimony to the unity experienced within the life of the Church in the ideological context of today’s globalised society
Adrian Lemeni The article analyses how the contemporary network society and ideological globalisation are replacing authentic communities with impersonal networks, promoting an artificial and levelling unity that alienates the individual and eliminates transcendence. In contrast, the author argues that the true unity of the world is founded in Jesus Christ and in the spiritual life of the Church, citing the example of Saint Silouan the Athonite. The Church is called to bear witness to its prophetic and eschatological vocation, resisting reduction to a mere social institution subordinated to the logic of efficiency and global consumerism.
