On the occasion of the centenary in 2018, this article looks back at the stages leading up to the Great Union of 1 December 1918, from the union of Bessarabia and Bukovina with Romania to the Great National Assembly at Alba Iulia, where over 100,000 Romanians voted for the union of Transylvania with Romania, through the testimonies of Ilie Mișcuția, Nicolae Iorga and Vasile Goldiș.
