The Influence of Hesychasm on Romanian Monasticism
Academician, University Professor, Dr Răzvan Theodorescu Palamite Hesychasm and its influence on monasticism and ecclesiastical culture in Wallachia and Moldavia in the 14th century form the central theme of this article, which analyses concrete evidence such as the will of Metropolitan Hariton, the work of Nicodim of Vodița and Tismana, and the monograms on the embroidered epitrachelion of Tismana, in order to demonstrate the presence and spread of Hesychast doctrine north of the Danube.
