The Knowledge of God in Saint Cyril of Alexandria: A Plea for a Eucharistic and Prayerful Epistemology
PhD candidate Dragoș-Cătălin Jumugă This article analyses the Eucharistic gnoseology of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, demonstrating that true knowledge of God is not a rational, individual endeavour, but a mystical experience realised in the Holy Eucharist. Through an interpretation of the pericope John 17:3 and the road to Emmaus, the author demonstrates that the triad of knowledge-mystery-life acquires its full meaning only within the liturgical communion of the Church.
