Studia Humanitatis No. I (XIX) / 2025 Ilie Lăcătușu, a saint in the communist prisons Prof. Dr. Florin Epure

Priest Ilie Lăcătușu (1909–1983), originally from Vâlcea County, served as an Orthodox missionary in Transnistria and Odessa during the Second World War, and subsequently endured imprisonment in the forced-labour camps at Galeșu, Peninsula and Periprava during the communist era. On 4 February 2025, he was officially canonised by the Romanian Patriarchate; his feast day is 22 July, and his incorrupt relics are enshrined at Giulești Cemetery in Bucharest.

Colloquium No. II (IX) / 2019 On the health of the soul. A helpful word from Abba Julian the Prodromite George Crăsnean

The article sets out the teachings of the monk Iulian Lazăr of the Prodromou Skete (Mount Athos), as conveyed to some visitors in February 2014, and contains exhortations on deification, unceasing prayer, the healing of the soul through confession and a spiritual father, patience in the face of injustice, love for one’s neighbour and zeal for holiness.
